This Splash! motif suits the coffee can shape well and accentuates the contrast between plain white china and decorated surfaces perfectly. A series of seemingly random coloured ink splodges gives an almost manic energy with the irregular shapes arranged in a fan-like pattern leading from around the handle and radiating outwards. The saucer too mirrors this dramatic contrast thus allowing the ensemble to match in perfect unity.
Coffee Can is an 18th century description of a sometimes tall cup without a saucer… the forerunner of what we might call a mug. However, some did have saucers too so in that vein we continue to use the term to delineate from mugs and tea cups and saucers.

Our products are microwave and dishwasher safe – except gilded items which have a metallic finish. Each individual design description will confirm this information. Whilst Blue Artemis bone china is a robust product, we recommend using low temperatures and liquid detergents when washing, or alternatively washing by hand and drying with a soft cloth. Blue Artemis china is unsuitable for oven and freezer use.
Each piece is decorated by hand using motifs from an eclectic mix of unique transfers aka decals. This means no two pieces will be identical and even when you select from a defined collection, there will always be minor variations from the images shown on the website.
